Fender Rhodes Mark 1 Suitcase 1970 completely rebuild

This Fender Rhodes has been completely restored, so sound and action are all in perfect order. Outside is original, and looks near mint. Around €3.750,- in parts and labour has been spent into this Rhodes.  1970 was the first production year of the Mark 1 piano and can been seen as a transitional year, since lots of parts from the 60ies sparkletops models were peing use, the most important being the RAYMAC tines, that produce a very different sound compared to the later tines used from 1971. This gives this Fender Rhodes a very special character soundwise. Also the pickups are different from later Rhodes piano’s which also contributes to the unique sounds of the production year

The following has been done internally to assure it’s perfect:
– Tuning
– Voicen
– Replacing bad/broken tines
– New tonebar grommets incl. screws and washers
– Squaring tine-ends
– Repositioning harp
– Replacing demper felts en adjusting damperarms
– Minimalising sideway keyplay and cleaning/lubing keypins (front and centerpins)
– Leveling keys
– Cleaning keys, frame and inside case
– New rubber hammertips (square type for that fat sound)
– Actiemod for lighter action
– Recap powersupply and preamp
– 2x new Jensen P12Q speaker
– Brand new Avion Retroflyer deluxe preamp
– Retolex incl newe hardware en 2x grill cloth speakerkast
– Everything else needed to make this Fender Rhodes play and sound like it should.

The Fender Rhodes is voiced with a minimum of bells and maximum of dynamics and bark, like the recordings of the (early) seventies. Think Stevie Wonder’s I Wish or Steely Dan’s Babylon Sister, Pink Floyd Shine on you craze diamond, etc.

This Rhodes can be used in a studio or on stage right away, suitable for the (semi-) pro’s.

Price is €7.250,- incl (non refundable) VAT.

There’s a 12 month warranty.
